My name is Sandra Rós Björnsdóttir but go by the artist name Krumla when freelancing. Born and raced in Reykjavík, studied arts in Borgarholtsskóli and in 2013 graduated from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco with a BFA in Animation: Visual Development. Currently work as a multimedia designer for Mussila, makers of educational apps for kids, and freelance as an illustrator. Most notable clients are the Educational Institution of Iceland and the Icelandic Dyslexic Association. Also, there’s a caricature by me in Lana Wachowski’s house.
Never been able to pick a specialty since variety is the spice of life. Dabbled in concept design, illustration, storyboards, comics, pattern design, murals, caricatures, graphic design, typography, motion graphics, animation, sculpting, and many other things that are not art related. What is my focus is the love of storytelling and making things look good.
I recently relocated back to Reykjavík. For how long I cannot say since the wanderlust in me is hard to kill.
