From December 12th to Christmas Eve, the Yule Lads descend from their hidden mountain home in Iceland. Thirteen brothers who once brought trouble to every doorstep, stealing food, slamming doors, and earning their names. But after being influenced by Santa Claus, they changed their ways. For well-behaved children, they leave little gifts in shoes placed on windowsills. For the naughty? A potato.
After they each roam the country for thirteen days, they return to their demon-like mother Grýla, her useless husband Leppalúði, and their giant fashion-loving cat.
