Branding package for a song writing contest. Commissioned by Icelandic Ministry of Culture and Business Affairs, and Art for All.
When designing this I was inspired by the designs I felt drawn to as a teen in the early 2000’s. The chose of colors and the design of the logo is weird. And the client wasn’t originally going to chose it. Until they showed the designs to our main demographic: teens. They loved it! They thought it looked interesting, different and cool.
Click on picture above for the Instagram. It was a contest for kids 12-16 so they were the target group. The branding also had to be simple, so it could be run by a non designer in Canva.

The visuals were inspired by the old Icelandic saga's and brutalism.

A header for the contest. It's the most famous musician in Iceland, Bubbi. The contest was about writing lyrics to one of his original songs. Then it was performed on RÚV TV channel.


The logo was designed to be both modern and reminding us of the old Icelandic Saga's. Normally I wouldn't go with a trend for branding but since the competition was only for a few months it worked. And the kids found it to be an interesting and fresh look. Font is Bork.
